Pipe Hunter’s trenchless technology systems offer a clean, timely and cost-effective alternative to digging and replacing pipes.

COMMERCIAL TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGIES

Our total solution includes:

By combining the use of our equipment with our ability to prepare concise, accurate reports, we can compile documents that are suitable for condition reports and assist you in preparing the scope of works before you send those works out for tender or quotation.

CCTV PIPELINE INSPECTIONS

Pipe Hunter carries out CCTV surveys of pipelines from 40mm to 225mm diameter, providing a USB of the information along with a written condition report. Using our CCTV equipment, we can accurately track and locate the camera head as it passes through the pipeline. Our cameras are fitted with transmitters that enable accurate location of the pipe or drain. We can carry out complete surveys of entire facilities, compiling accurate drainage plans in hard copy or PDF format allowing you to inspect the drain in question.

SMOKE TESTING

What is Smoke Testing?
Smoke testing uses non-toxic, odourless smoking candles to detect leaks caused by broken pipes, bad connections, open pipes or fittings. Unusual odours are usually the first indication of faulty stormwater or sewer pipe. As these pipes are often installed under buildings, roads or landscaping, the problem can be difficult to locate. Our testing technique produces dense white smoke that is distributed through the pipes, under low pressure. It fills the pipe system and escapes from problem areas, such as cracked or broken pipes, revealing the source of the leak. Smoke testing has become a world standard detection practice as it is a fast, efficient and cost-effective testing technique.

What are the Advantages?
Smoke testing is simple to apply and a high visibility detection system for difficult to locate leaks. The system uses a non-corrosive, non-toxic, odourless smoking technique to identify defects within the sewer or stormwater pipes. Suitable for residential or industrial pipe systems, the smoke is non-staining and quickly isolates the problem. If a leak is caused by cracked or broken pipes, Pipe Hunter offers non-invasive options, such as pipe relining to repair the pipe system.

ROBOTIC LOCATING & CUTTING

Pipe Hunter has invested heavily in robotic cutting equipment capable of cutting obstructions from within the pipe. Imported from Denmark, and one of only three in Australia, our cutter operates in pipelines from 70mm to 300mm diameter. The robot can be used to cut liners from junctions after pipelining works or for milling solid deposits such as render. It can also remove cross-bores and pickets before a liner is installed to repair the break.

MINIMAL IMPACT.
MAXIMUM RESULTS.

Trenchless technology introduces a new dimension in plumbing; removing the need to dig trenches and excavate sites to repair pipe problems. Pipe Hunter offers a low impact, permanent alternative to traditional pipe replacement methods.

If left unchecked, the potential for damaged pipes to affect our local environment is significant:

  • Leaking sewerage pipes may cause public health concerns and threaten local flora and fauna
  • Damaged water pipes can affect surrounding groundwater levels, compromising the structural integrity of building foundations
  • Blocked pipes may create health risks at home or work via contamination from bacteria

Trenchless technology allows us to fix pipe problems with little or no digging and reduces the impact of plumbing works on landscaped areas, flooring, paving or driveways and minimises the disruption to household routines.

At Pipe Hunter, we only use Watermark products for our relining jobs. Approved by the ABCB (Australian Building Codes Board) these materials have a 40+ year life expectancy.

Our pipe lining system offers a long-term solution using high-performance materials including styrene free, non-toxic resins that are designed to minimise any impact on our environment.

DRAIN CLEANING

We have 4 X 1 tonne vehicles, fitted with mini jets which operate up to 5000psi, suitable for cleaning drains up to 150mm diameter with high pressure water.

CCTV SURVEYS

Pipe Hunter can carry out CCTV survey of pipelines from 40mm to 150mm in diameter. Information is presented to you in CCTV format, together with a written condition report.

PIPE RELINING

Pipe Hunter uses the highest standard Watermark products approved by the ABCB (Australian Building Codes Board). We can line drains from as small as 50mm, to 225mm in diameter.

VACUUM EXTRACTION

Our Municipal Jet Truck can also operate with our Vacuum Trailer for cleaning larger diameter pipes and pits; vacuuming out stormwater systems only.
